Contact Lens Fitting
We provide many types and brands of contact lenses ranging from rigid gas permeable to daily and monthly disposables. We also carry several brands in stock for your convenience so that they will be available to you as soon as possible, which is especially helpful to our patients who have medically-necessary contact lens needs.
Our staff can train new contact lens wearers to insert, remove, and care for contact lenses safely and will answer any contact lens-related questions. Our doctors can provide custom contact lens fittings including high prescription fittings, keratoconus, post-RK, post LASIK, post-cataract surgery, and post corneal transplants. If you have any questions about contact lenses or contact lens services please call our office.
Ask us about Orthokeratology and Corneal Refractive Therapy. These are specialty hard lenses worn at night while you sleep. They reshape your eye overnight to reduce or even completely eliminate your need to wear glasses or contact lenses the next day!
Vision problems can occur at any age, and children in school need to have their vision corrected to help ensure they are able to function at the highest level. Vision issues can lead to impaired learning and difficulty in school. Our doctors provide your children with excellent care and will be more than happy to provide your school with any required examination reports. Young children's screenings include testing for lazy eye, astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia, and ocular disease.
Diabetic Vision Screening
It is very important for those with diabetes, both type-1 and type-2, to receive eye examinations on a regular basis. Diabetes can lead to diabetic retinopathy which can result in internal bleeding and blindness if left untreated. Examinations every 6 to 12 months will ensure that the diabetic eye remains free of damage. If you have diabetes, please alert our staff of your condition in addition to listing the details of your diagnosis and treatment in your paperwork.
We provide consultation and co-management for our patients who are considering LASIK or have recently undergone LASIK surgery for vision correction. For those interested in the procedure, our doctors will thoroughly explain what is involved, what you can expect, what the requirements are for LASIK, and provide you with a thorough evaluation to determine whether or not you are a candidate for the surgery. Our goal is for you to walk away happy and satisfied.
Our comprehensive eye exams include thorough ocular disease testing. This is important because many diseases and conditions are asymptomatic. Early detection means that treatment can be started as soon as possible to prevent permanent damage. We are able to take high definition fundus (retinal) photos to detect macular degeneration and also to detect damage that may have occurred from diabetes, hypertension, or glaucoma. Our other specialized tests include Optical Coherence Tomography by Zeiss Medical Instruments and Humphrey's visual field (peripheral vision) testing. Catching disease early is the name of the game, and we spare no effort to make sure that any conditions you may have been spotted as soon as possible.
Redness, Irritation, and Dry Eyes
These are common and widespread symptoms that affect many people. Dry Eye Syndrome, in particular, is growing and may be due to prolonged computer use which can lead to a decreased blinking rate (this causes your eyes to dry out faster). There can be many environmental and genetic causes for dry eyes. Once our doctors determine the causative factors, they will set up a treatment regimen that is appropriate for your particular needs. Common treatments include artificial tears, prescription eye drops, and punctal plugs.
Irritation and redness may simply be symptoms of allergies, but could also be the symptoms of viral or bacterial conjunctivitis. Viral conjunctivitis is highly contagious and often requires a prescription, so prompt diagnosis and treatment are imperative.
Years of Experience
Grant Optometric Group is as good as it gets! I always felt nervous when I went to eye doctors, but Dr. Grant puts my mind at ease every time. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and has great interpersonal skills. All staff is very helpful, and nice. They were even able to exchange my broken glasses that I bought a year ago :) I will never go anywhere else!
Excellent service. The staff was patient and helpful during my first visit to get new frames and new contact lenses. They let me test a pair of new contact lenses that were different than the ones I had been using for years so I could get a better feel before I committed to a year supply. Highly recommended!
Best Optometrist in OC!! I started coming here when I was 14 with the senior Dr. Grant, and now I see Kevin Grant. He is wonderful, patient, and extremely experienced. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new Optometrist.
